Lynnie 's journey
I want to share a little bit of the story of my life in the province, and living in other countries. I hope you won't get bored hehe. When I was young I lived with my Grandmother (lola) in the Philippines - She's a wonderful woman, an amazing woman and very kind. I miss her a lot too. You know, I have lived in other countries for more than 10 years, now and I will tell you. there really is no place like home. I missed my family all the time, I wish they were here. What I miss about the Philippines is the simple way of life. We lived in a bahay kubo (a hut made of bamboo and coconut leaves) and full of laughter, with my siblings. This was our daily life. Every morning we wiĺl fetch water in from 5 km away - sandayong (spring water). Feeding the piglets, goats, cows, carabao, chicken etc.. The air, was fresh, and the the food so fresh and organic. There was - bulad - (dried fish),, and ginamos - salty small fish with sauce. I loved it with boiled banana ( hilaw na saging). Such a peaceful life. My dream was I want to be a nun, hmm don't laugh... but I learned to expect the unexpected - although it may never happen,. Be careful what you wish for hehe. I ended up married to lovely man. I can't complain, he's such a wonderful person. Back to the topic. Yes, a nun. I want to serve Jesus, but that just a dream. Anyway, I believe that we should just be real, and to try not to hurt anybody, physically or verbally, Choose to be good anyway. I learn a lot of things everyday. What I mean is, the more you try, fail or success the stronger you get you know. Now I'm in the United kingdom. It's such a beautiful Country. aside from the cold weather, which I hate. The people are so lovely. Healthcare and schools are free. That is the advantages of it. How do like the British food ? Quite nice but sometimes a bit bland for me. Some foods are actually nice - sticky pudding. I love it - it is better than rice pudding. My husband wants me to try traditional food, so sometimes we end up with two meals, Filipino & British food on our table, he hates fish heads btw and meat with bones, he just turns his head away when I I eat the fish eyes and chicken feet haha.. Until next time, share your beautiful story send me email HERE wishing a Merry Christmas and a healthier life ahead to everyone... My husband has written a book about Philippines. It is available here in Paperback.
