Lynnie 's journey
![]()
There is no shortage of advice, rules, criticism, blame and shame flying around these days. Most of it centered on the virus in one way or another. The restrictions cause mental issues for many people, not just because of the lack of social contact, but also because of the frightening financial burdens many of us have to face.
It is clear we all have to rethink many things - the way we interact with strangers, friends and family, what we can expect from our health service providers and our government - and what shopping, eating out and visiting places of interest is going to look like for quite a long time, indeed, our way of life may have to change permanently. Perhaps, instead of complaining about mask-wearing, long lines to get into shops and restricted opening hours we should concentrate on morepositive things. While the problem has certainly brought out the worst in some people, it has also brought out the best in many. Instead of being negative, let's look at how we can improve ourselves. We now have an opportunity to assist others more than ever before, we can look after our neighbors, helping them with shopping, medical needs etc. We can watch out for friends who don't seem to be doing well through this pandemic - if we can't meet them, at least we can call them or email them - let them know they are not alone. We have an opportunity now to show compassion and caring. It will help others, and make us feel better. It is a shame it takes a medical disaster to make us take care of each other - but never mind, we must do this now. We must move forward with positivity and not think how bad things are for us? but instead think how bad is this for others? and what can we do to help them? That way we'll all get through it and come out the other side in a happier and more fulfilled way. Check out PW shopLynnie supported her elderly parents her working life – she still does.
